A blatantly John Prine-derivative yet original song, very loosely based on a true story about going out on a date in Norway.
(Lyrics by Jordan and Arthur.)

Lyrics:

You called me up the other day
To have some fun
The ball's in play
A sunny day, and that's okay

A smiling glance, a picnick park
A happy time
The moon is dark
A sunny day, and that's okay

Memories, they can't be boughten (John Prine)
I could swear there's something I've forgotten

I'm walking home, the day is done
The wind is blowing
All on its own
A sunny night, and that's alright.

  • Well, Ian, that's alright :) This is like a haiku, short and sweet -- and leaves room for further thinking. I like it a lot. And I also like your homage to Mr. Prine. I am sure he would be proud to know.
