This is a track off of a Control Denied demo floating around the internet, titled A Moment Of Clarity. If you like this song, then I strongly recommend that you buy The Fragile Art Of Existence reissue from Relapse Records. This song appears as track 7 on the second CD in much better quality.

  • Holy Shit, this is so much better than the album version. i love the solo :-)

  • I'm astounded so many people like the demos better than the album. Glad I posted these.

  • @xaviermockingbird That's me, and no, the changes were Chuck's decision. No way would he let the record company make him do anything against his will. The line-up on the 3 song demo was me, Chris Williams, Scott Clendenen, Shannon Hamm and of course, Chuck. I think it's the most memorable week of my entire life. After we finished, Chuck called me into the kitchen, we did a shot of Jim Beam and he said "If you want the job, I'm not even calling Halford back".

  • Chris and Chuck... R.I.P..

  • @lordtimbo Well, just between you and me, you did a much better job than Halford ever could have done on the album!

  • Similar to Death, without growls and with slightly slower tempo

  • WE WANT WHEN MAN AND MACHINE COLLIDE

  • @mixemoe Definitely better than the original, the solo is awesome, I don't understand why it didn't make the album.

  • This sounds so much better, because it's less polished and more raw.

  • @TailGunner01 yes

  • Chris Williams on drums?

  • Wow! Outstanding arrangement! The album version is, of course, great. However, this version is pumped up on some steroids! I wonder why Chuck decided to make so many changes, like removing the cool harmonic minor melodic phrase from the post-solo segment of the song.

  • Thanks for the compliment. Halford has always been a hero to me, so taking the job with Chuck was just that much more of an honor.
