it is called competion. The customer decides to go there. I remember that it was members of sleepless goat that was protesting. Starbucks opened in Indigo / Chapters ( normal co-branding). Divison / Johnson - on closed and then reopened across the street. The other one on Princess St. one blcok from sleep goat and another coffe shop - both still there. Divison St across from Tim Hortons - different type of cofffe drinker. I hope you are not a commerce student

well, they were right - Starbucks has put some shops out of business since they moved in. It's wrong to throw shit at big corporations just for being around, yeah. But with the protesting, they were probably just afraid for Kingston businesses. They had no idea that they wouldn't suffer.

Since Starbucks moved in you had the best 2 years. Umm is this not the group ( Sleepless Goat) that protested when Starbucks moved in saying that they are going to put coffee shops out of business. Is this also the same group that threw something at Starbucks window on opening day. Becuase of that display I will not step into Sleepless Goat

Without the communist bent, sounds like a nice place to eat and drink.

Great video!! I just wandered into the sleepless goat yesterday for the first time in search of Coffee that was not from Starbucks! Fantastic place! I'll be back soon!

lovely
How would Starbucks put soemone out of business. They are not the cheapest so please explain. Maybe because Starbucks is has friendlier staff than the chaeper Tim Horton's. Did the Starbucks mafia go to other coffe shops and shut them down?
. Maybe Starbucks offers something the consumer likes better than some other coffee shop

@harhem Starbucks is known for being predatory: While I was attending Queen's, 3 starbucks opened in 1 year, and they all set up shop directly next to or across from other independently coffee shops. I don't think the Sleepless Goat was responsible for throwing things at Starbucks, although I wouldn't be surprised if some of their customers were involved with that. That being said, you can't hold an organization accountable for the things that their customers do.
