Dodge Ram HEMI vs. Chevy Silverado (drag)

ok keep in mind that i have a 2003 Dodge Ram HEMI with a 5.7L V8 with 130,000 miles, a cold air intake system, and a flowmaster exhaust pushing out probably around 350hp. my friend tyler has a 1999 Chevy Silverado 5.3L V8 with 230,000 miles, and bone stock producing somewhere around 270hp. obviously its not a close race by far but i just thought it would be fun!

in the desription it says pushing prolly 350 hp... The hemi alone pushes out that, duels put you at 5 more hp.. cold intake system.. about 21 hp.. so i am thinking its around 375-400 man,

well its 345 stock. honestly i dont think the CAI adds but 10hp, maybe, despite what the package or website may say. its all in advertising, but thats just my opinion. and you also have to add the fact that it has 130k miles on her. she isnt as fast as the day she rolled out of the factory line, but boy she was a good truck! i want another hemi soooo bad!

i dont no what silverado that is but my 1996 Silverado with straight pipes and 350 vortec without the chip can push 0-100 in 8.3 sec

Hey 21sipes, a stock chevy 5.3 liter puts out 270 horses, not 327. 5.3 liters is the same as 327 c.i.

A 5.3 has 327 horses stock.. I have dual 50 series flowmaster dumped, Injen Cold-Air, a Bully Dog GT Universal Programmer, small cam, and I have 380 horses but I'll blow that Dodge out of the water! I beat a Nightmare Edition Dodge Hemi 5.7 with cold-air and 40 series flows... Chevy all the way, man! Obviously that kid that said a 5.3 stock has 270 horses shouldn't even be watching this video.

@speeddemon0712 yeah there's a lot of controversy over that but im just goin on whats on the spec sheet. basically it's the "new school" 327 because nowadays you can make more power with less cubic inches lol

@harky92 i did some research and it seems nobody really agrees on what the 5.3L was. GM claims it as a 327, as does the general public. but stores like summit call it a 325, so who knows. either way, we're only 2 cubic inches off haha
