90 stars for this post. heard it several times on Wiillies Place, but never said the name of the singers. glad i finally found it. also the Gatlins did a gospel video with the Gaithers. the last song on the video isn't on the sound track. hope someone can find it. think it's called Step Into The River of Love

@starthrower68 Oh yes, I was closing in on 20 when my hormones took over and that was when Broken Lady was one of their biggest hits of the time. I have their oldest albums and one song that is probably my favorite is called Jacob and Marcie. It's long but dang it is so great!!!

great voices, haromonies and personalities. Gatlins, awesome!!!

As much as I love the Everly Brothers and Simon and Garfunkel and the way they harmonize, NO duo, trio, quartet or whatever can harmonize the way these brothers can and do! I was able to attend several of their concerts back in the late seventies and eighties and they always put on a great show! They always ended with "Alleluia" and it would be so quiet in whatever venue they were playing in, you would have thought angels were singing on the stage! Totally awesome!

I originally thought these guys were cheesy until the teenage girl hormones kicked in....it was about the time this song came out...

@python698 Country music also changed - when Dwight Yokum and Randy Travis hit it big in the mid 1980s country kind of went more traditional and went away from the country-pop sound. (That also killed Barbara Mandrell and the Oak Ridge Boys).

Larry and the guys hit #4 in Billboard, 3-21-87. God bless y'all, Gatlins!

they kind of got held back cause of his ego too. from what i understand he got to be kind of full of himself and his talent. too bad cause they have about the best harmonies in music. even compared to today's "greats"

I think that Larry's songwriting held them back. He did write some outstanding songs, like this one and "All the Gold in California", but in general his songs were too wordy to be giant memorable hits.
Sad, because the vocals are so unbelievably good.
I love this song! I don't know why the Gatlin's aren't more famous!
