One of the Gaza aid organisers Glasgow-based Dr Hasan Nowarah of Justice for Palestine spoke at an SSP public meeting in Glasgow of his experiences of brutality inflicted on himself and others by Israeli forces who shot at the convoy of humanitarian aid boats in international waters and then stormed the boats beating some people up and shooting others. He witnessed old men being brutalised e.g. a man in his 80's a former US ambassador being struck in the back with a gun, and another man in his 60's Dr Paul who jumped off the ship and was pursued by navy divers who dragged him back but not before forcing his head under water several times for long periods to almost drown him. Hasan had twisted his leg in an accident just prior to the voyage and had crutches, but hobbled quickly to the octogenarian's defence and hit the soldier but was knocked to the ground from where he kicked out but was himself brutalised with a gun being smashed into his already injured foot and he ended up with compound fractures. The Israeli commando kept jeering "enough?" at him with each blow. Most of the brutality and murders of the flotilla aid workers took place on the main boat the Mavi Marmari but there was also brutality committed against the aid workers on the smaller boats in the convoy which Hasan describes in part 2 and 3 of his speech and which fellow Scots aid worker Theresa McDermott also witnessed. She was in Challenger 1 which was the smallest and held 15 but still witnessed a lot of brutality. The boat he was on had 45 people but around 50 Israeli commandos stormed onto it. After their ship was seized they were taken to an Israeli port, were robbed of all their possessions and money which was a considerable amount given they were bringing aid to the besieged Gazans who are being starved to death walled in by the Israeli blockade. The aid workers were thrust into different jails. They were beaten up and Israeli soldiers took it in turn to deal a blow with their weapons to a man lying screaming on the ground. If Hasan had not had dual nationality with Britain he may have ended up as one of the ten unnamed dead Palestinians whose murders were not admitted by the Israelis. The official figures were 9 dead including a Turkish-American citizen but those who witnessed the murders saw that 19 of the aid workers had been killed. According to some eye witnesses the aid workers managed to shoot 6 soldiers in self-defence after they successfully wrested the weapons off some of the soldiers who had stormed onboard and used their own weapons against them to defend themselves from any more shootings, so the figures of 9 aid workers and 0 soldiers dead are untrue. The figures are: 19 aid workers dead whom the marines started to shoot at while the workers were unarmed and in international waters and 6 Israeli navy seals dead after their own weapons were used on them. • @thewindknight2020 Dr Paul Larudee is a long-time campaigner for Palestinian human rights. He has visited Palestine many times since 1965. He was wounded by Israeli gunfire in 2002 while resisting peacefully Israeli human rights violations. He is one of the founders of Free Gaza Movement whose boats in 2008 became the first in 41 years to break Israel's naval blockade. I've added links to more info at the bottom of the video description.
