In the 1940's American companies began offering health insurance as part of a more attractive benefits package to workers.

Stay Smart Stay Healthy was created by Edward Batchelor at Humana Inc. as a new-media venture designed to deliver guidance, and to support awareness and understanding of the healthcare industry.

His goal was simple: to educate consumers on the healthcare system by removing the usual complexities and replacing them with an informative and engaging series of videos.

  • i live in the uk where there is universal healthcare. god i feel sorry for you people. when you get sick it must be like organizing an insurance claim after your house gets flooded. over here its a few grand a year for everything and it works fine.

  • @newfie8

Try treat it yourselves + better services.

  • My name is Junior, and I am mentally retrded!

  • Yet France, Sweden, Japan, etc all produce better results than the US healthcare system for half the cost.

  • The US it is number one in cancer, it is however 33rd in infant mortality, the reason being cancer is more profitable than babies.

France has the highest rated healthcare system in the world, overall it produces better results than the US and costs about half as much per capita and guess what it is universal and largely government funded.

Incidently do you know which country performed the first heart transplant?

  • 1. Because your government pays double what ours pays per person even before your insurance bills are included

    2. Because you've cherry picked one specific area to prove your argument, the UN says our healthcare system as a whole is much better.

  • except for the fact ur system does not breed medical innovation due to the states oversight on costs salaries. All most all of the new medical advances stem from the US because thats where the money is at. If your system is so great how come even without out universal care average US citizen has a better chance of surviving just about all forms of cancer than his UK cousin? Its because the US is number 1 in correct diagnosis and treatment in the world. I like my odds in the states

  • THE current bill is not the answer ,,,does not address proper Tort Reform, "undocumented" access for expensive non-life threatening HC , & does not provide MOST IMPORTANTLY an OPT OUT Provision for those that believe it is still too bloated with waste & inefficiencies resulting in inflated premiums not in keeping with services provided.

....A mandate stuffed inside a trojan horse bill for HC is a skunk in the road...too stupid to debate...

REPEAL the BIll nobody ever wanted

  • Wrong...research president Nixon and the laws he signed for the truth, please do some reaserch before you talk again

  • WRONG you are absolutely wrong...it is exactly the other way around. GET THE FACTS

  • Oh goodness how glad I am to live in the UK, with our Universal Health Care. We all pay in our taxes and we are all are covered. This is the cheapest and most efficient system there is. It is also, of course, the fairest and most civilised.
