One stylus, two styli...

@Kidman848 You use that weight and headshell weight only if you cant balance the needle with out. You just use it because it is there like you said.

plz tell mw how much weight should be applied? on record by stylus

@THjelm yes!! what he's pointing to is the stylus. If he were pointing to a bunch of them it would be the styli.

(Little Tip)...some times its effects the needle 2 get jumpy even when the table / flor is not perfictly FLAT or str8....in that case check it with a Spirit Level or put a tiny ball @ the centre 4 testing......if it mooves to the edge,,you will have to do some maintinance....

The weight that screws in to the back of the tone arm should only be used for heavy cartridges. It says that in the Technics manual. I dont use it as there is no need to on a Stanton 500
-
@Kidman848 No. They also supply the extra screw in weight for the back of the tonearm as well. It is a EXTRA weight and should be used if needed.
-
Another thing I dont get is why do DJ's use that weight that looks like a coin on top of the hedshell? That must be destroying your records. Stanton 500's can take up to 5 grams and if you have the wieght set at that they never jump making the headshell weight that goes on top unnecesary
-
If Technics supply a weight for use with light cartriges then you should use it. They are the experts after all
-
So in this case that weight is most likely going to be needed. In the 90s when I had/used those needles I used that weight. Only with those needles did I ever use the weight.

6. Then find out how much weight your needle is supposed to have. It is known as tracking force.
7. Spin the weight back down the tone arm until it is that number.
8. If you cant spin it down the number your cart requires then you need to add the extra weight on the head shell. ONLY THEN.
You actually want as little weight as possible on the needles.
Keep in the mind that looks like OG stanton 500 cart in the video. And those actually needed about 4grams to track well.
No wories, like i said i dont know everything!!!
