you kids are lucky these days. time signatures now are as varied as apple-pad apps. when i was a kid, we couldn't afford odd time signatures.
-
Time signatures are really important in order to sound ultra pretentious. Like I'm sitting there counting the 16th notes in a blast beat, give me a fucking break. Its important in orchestral music because you have 30 people reading sheet music who need to know when the beat shifts, its largely irrelevant in metal.

it's really not.....i don't know the difference between 9/4 9/8 or whatever....as longa s you know the beats per bar is their that much more to understand?
i used to play in a fairly technical band too...

This is a horrible lesson. You didint even cover the whole song.

First Act?....

and the tapping? lol. the only reason i watched this was because i though that was to be included, because the other parts i can learn by ear. FAILOFAVID. <3 G.T.

lol time signatures r like the most important thing about music learn something people

My only issue with this "lesson" is that it's missing a few riffs.
Namely the great riff from the first verse of the song.

I think you mean disconcerting.
Anyway, I think the song would be in 9:4 time. Since he counts each beat on 2 eight notes. If it were 9:8, then each 8th note would be a beat.
"I don't really understand time signatures, and I don't think its that important to"
