Lucie, scomparsa da un anno, viene ritrovata mentre cammina lungo una strada, in stato catatonico, confusa, incapace di ricordare cosa le è successo. Perlustrando le vicinanze la polizia scopre un mattatoio abbandonando, dove probabilmente la ragazza è stata tenuta rinchiusa durante il periodo della sua scomparsa. Quindici anni dopo, Lucie si trova in una casa in mezzo alla foresta, ha un fucile in mano, si sentono dei colpi....

This movie is fucking brilliant, but it's not going to be appreciated by everybody.

As a horror movie it does an excellent job, it keeps you uneasy and you will be surprised time after time. But this movie is far more than just a horror movie, the actual theme of the movie speaks through very subtle symbolism.

Without spoiling the plot I can assure you that if the message gets through, it will stick to your mind in a haunting yet strangely uplifting way for a long time. A masterpiece.

A secret circle of people searching for a girl who is able to see whats coming after dead and to find a girl with this ability, they have to torture them because these people think, that only women could stand so much pain, that they can leave their bodies and enter afterlife. And this old Women was the only one who knows what the girl saw in the afterlife. And this must be so damn crazy, that the old women killed herself to see it herself.

As a german guy i have to give respect to the french movie in general. These people have guts. We in germany would be to damn scared about the discussion afterwards. I love this movie so much. Saw it 4 times. It has everything - gore (i dont need to have gore) - great story - mind blasting actors - and probably the most shocking message.
