Lucie, scomparsa da un anno, viene ritrovata mentre cammina lungo una strada, in stato catatonico, confusa, incapace di ricordare cosa le è successo. Perlustrando le vicinanze la polizia scopre un mattatoio abbandonando, dove probabilmente la ragazza è stata tenuta rinchiusa durante il periodo della sua scomparsa. Quindici anni dopo, Lucie si trova in una casa in mezzo alla foresta, ha un fucile in mano, si sentono dei colpi....

This film is really about 2:27-2:31. The most beautiful thing about this movie is that once you get past the (realistic) blood, the (painful to even watch) torture and the emotional breakdown of everyone in the film (including yourself, guaranteed) it's just a story of love - and whatever kind of love you want it to be, not just the same old romantic shit.

This is one of the best movies I've ever seen, includind all the genres. It's a masterpiece and absolutely disturbing.

Some people are saying this is a love story? Are they high? Watch the movie in its entirety. It's not about about love and if that is what the writer of the movie said it was or whomever, they missed the mark by far! It is about whether someone can be a martyr without being religious or something I was trying to wrap my mind around which was what the lady with the turban on her head was talking about as far as why they were doing this.

This was a great foreign film in French with English subtitles for those who actually watched the movie. It was a great film, had a great story. Lots of physical abuse though (a huge guy beating the crap out of a tiny woman) and very sadistic with lots of blood. Some of it was even difficult for me to watch which is rare. I highly recommend this film is you are not squeamish.
