The opening of the Rose Bowl has generated a wave of excitement within the Faculty of Business & Law here at Leeds Met. The £50 million development, due to open for learning in September 2009 is based in the heart of Leeds City Centre, adjacent to the University's Civic Quarter. The move to the five storey building will mean leaving the Headingley Campus, which is known for its traditional charm.
Staff and students were questioned on their opinions about the move, and were greeted by very positive responses. Jason McCartney, Senior Lecturer on the BA (Hons) Journalism course enthused "I can't wait to move to the Rose Bowl, it's a fantastic new building." Student, Paul Stocker added " The Rose Bowl is in a business environment, which will help me with my studies and I'll hopefully learn some useful tips."
Others taking part commented on the state-of-the-art facilities, the advantages of being in the heart of the city and the easy transport links. It seems that the Rose Bowl will offer many rewards to Leeds Business School and we look forward to embracing the move.
