New Yorkers for Beverage Choices is a group of concerned citizens and business owners who have united to take a stand against the Bloomberg Administration's proposed beverage size restrictions. We believe that all New Yorkers are capable of making their own food and beverage choices and are entitled to the freedom to do so.

Mayor Bloomberg and the city health department are once again telling us what we're allowed to eat or drink -- and how we're allowed to eat or drink it. This time it's soda. What's next? It's time to take a stand against overzealous proposals that distract from real solutions that will help reduces rates of obesity and keep New Yorkers healthy.

This proposal restricts our choice and our freedom. If you feel strongly against the proposal you can support the cause and sign our petition at www.nycbeveragechoices.com.

I love coke to death (my coke product of choice is coke Zero), but this commercial cracks me up. As if people can't live without their sodas. They can. And they will. And they will be better off with intaking fewer calories. People's health is more important than corporate profits. Too bad that Americans can't enjoy sodas as if they were a treat and instead drink them like water. And I'm sure many are decrying the interference of the government 'with our way of life'. But it's for the better.

Did soda companies defend smokers when cigarette taxes started going out of control?
