I love the Esprit, especially the latter 2002 plus cars. I have an elise and an E55 AMG and the Esprit seems like it has the best of both those cars wrapped into one package. Brilliant handling, and waves of torque with a very tuneable engine. How are the latter cars as far as reliability?
100% yes.... the whole point of a sportscar is the visceral feedback and the fact that YOU control the machine. Now, its all digital and you cant mess up. Sure, it allows more clowns to buy and drive the cars but it takes something away too. Gimme a Ferrrai 512BB, an Esprit, a Lambo Diablo - whatever! Just for the record, I have an '87 Turbo Esprit and that car is 100% ddriver-controlled!
@s2mikey Very true, almost all modern day exotics have lost the (unique driving experience)) that make exotic cars special in the first place. I love the Esprit, Diablo, Ferrari 360 with six speed, etc because they are cars that demand that the driver have experience in order to properly operate them at the limit, any time I can go out and drive a sports car at the limit as easy as a Buick, something is wrong.
Sure thing - I like the more classic Lambos better than the newer ones. The Gallardo is cool. Murcis dont do a thing for me though. The more these cars get "sissified", the lessI like them.
Best Supercar ever. The Italian cars have nothing on Lotus...except for Tony Guido enhancements. The Esprit is for real men who shift their cars and dont need digital nonsense to "assist" the driver. Lotus forever!!!
