hello JCeviche
I am a fisherman from Germany. I live near the baltic Sea where we catch mainly Cod, Seatrout and Flatfish (like your halibut. No one here fishes from a kayak, so I am one of the first to try it out. I have baught a Teksport Xcite 290 and I am so looking forward to try it out in 2 weeks time.
My question: How far out can you go safely on a sea which has got no tides? We do though get strong wind often and I am afraid that I could be blown far away from shore.
Thanks, J Perry

@Perryfication1 On calm weather I can safely go 5 miles straight out from the shore and travel 8-10 miles parallel to the coast. Where I fish the wind blows towards the shore so if the wind picks up it just pushes me closer to land. Take caution to make sure that the wind and current are favorable to you or else you will have some hard paddling at the end of the day. Be safe good luck. Johnny ceviche

JCeviche,
You are a true artist and lover of the sea and air. I live in Durban, South Africa and your videos are an inspiration to me and my son Paul, who await your next work. I also have a paddle ski, and like both fly and bait fishing. Do you ever use the sea squirt (tunicate) for bait in SoCal? You would love to fish off Durban, where we have tuna, queen and king mackrel, bluefish, snoek, and many other great fish.
Blessings,
Rick Gutierrez

brookheron, Hi Rick and Paul, I am pleased that you two enjoy watching my videos I sure will continue to make some more videos. Regarding sea squirt for bait I have not use them before, I only use live mackerel for bait as they are readily available here in California.
TL and Happy paddling,
JC
