The Climax(spoiler)from the 1980 film "The Island",where Michael Caine seizes his opportunity to avenge himself & his son against the modern day Pirates that have abducted them.Fate puts them all together on a coast guard Cutter(The Pirates have just taken),where Caine discovers a vintage WW11 Browning 50 Cal on a rise above the stern,& where all the pirates just happen to be gathering to take inventory of their Booty.This is one of the all time great Death scenes in film,& the best Machine Gun death scene ever(the kind you spring a woody over),esp if you have seen the film all the way through,and realize the comeuppance these scum bag-bastards are due to recieve.The film is available for purchase or rental on Amazon Unbox downloads.HDSG.

I taped this off the Movie Channel in the 80's and used to watch this scene A LOT. I would just rewind it and see the pirates get mutilated by that Browning .30 (it is a .30, not .50) over & over again. Coast Guard ships still used Browning deck guns in 1980 btw. It's a mystery as to why this is not on DVD in the US. I just bought an Australian version last week because I was tired of waiting for Paramount to get off their asses and release The Island (and The Keep).

BTW: It's NOT a .30 it's a .50 cal. If anyone has any doubts just pause it on the screen shot of the ammo box. It clearly states: AMM.BOX CAL .50. The US Coast Guard still uses them to this day.
