This is a wonderful recording, by a fine pianist. I still personally prefer Richter's rendition, but this is beautifully played, and so emotionally stirring that it is just about equal to that masterpiece.

Someone may at some time have played Brahms 2nd better, bigger, with a greater vision and a more touching warmth -- but I seriously doubt it.
