I am a huge fan of hers and have written many articles about her and I did not even know she did this particular aria.

never saw this woman or netrebko live, but from these recordings. gheorghiu is without question the superior singer.

@ancetaval I saw Netrebko this year as Mimi at the Met this year, and I would completely disagree. She brought out this beautiful but shy Mimi. Her voice was dark and powerful.
I also like Gheorghiu, but why bother comparing the two? Their repertory is steadily changing: Netrebko is approaching more verismo roles now while Gheorghiu is sort of sticking to the Traviata, Boheme, and Faust type of roles.

superb artistry, great musicianship. Lighter voice than Netrebko, but a better interpreter.

I prefer her Mimi. This aria is not a great fit for her voice.
