National Preparedness Month

September is National Preparedness Month, sponsored by the Ready Campaign in partnership with Citizen Corps and the Ad Council. Designed to encourage Americans to take simple steps to prepare for emergencies in their homes, businesses, and communities, it is also an important reminder to think about the needs of our animals in emergency situations. Dr. Ron DeHaven, chief executive officer of the American Veterinary Medical Association, gives pet and livestock owners some tips on how to prepare animals for an emergency.
