Exactly! Mariah has too much respect for Aretha too do that.. She was asked 2 cover a natural woman back in the day & she said no because she thought she could never do the song justice after Aretha's version.. She's a classy woman :)

What people don't realise is that when Mariah does decide to belt she's holding the microphone further away compared to Aretha who's holding it right infront (almost touching her lips) of her mouth. Mariah is clearly showing respect which is why the volume between the two is almost leveled.

what part did aretha sung over people lines? they didnt even rehearse! Its stupid to be jealous if you are the queen lol..If mariah was more successful she should have more grammy sorry! Aretha became successful coz of her only voice.. well singers today like mariah need to be half naked just to sell albums =(
