  • The Chase & Sanborn ad campaign, aimed towards men, reminds me of a similar print ad featured in TV GUIDE around the same time (usually a small ad featured at the bottom of the Wednesday evening TV listings)- "Tell your wife you want Durkee's Famous Sauce on Saturday's sandwiches! Zesty BOLD taste for men!". Amusing, today...

  • Standard Brands originally marketed Blue Bonnet margarine and Chase & Sanborn coffee [this is one of Standard's custom "two-fer" spots, enabling them to sell two of their products, back-to-back, during the same minute. Back then, most companies bought commercial time on the networks (and local stations) by the minute; today, advertisers sell more products through 15 and 30 second spots]. As for Blue Bonnet and Chase & Sanborn, they're now marketed by different companies...
