Just watching it again and it's even better now...Hillary's grown so much during this campaign and the video seems even more apt now. Thank you for the most beautiful Clinton-tributes I've ever seen...

John's music still calls us to our better selves--has it really been almost four years since we lost him?

John wrote this song in 74 and I think he is referring to the Watergate Scandal.

I love John Stewart's stuff but this video with hillary is just bull.

Sorry, my comment below was written only in response to jwtosh, who wrote that JS "did not subscribe to the current left-of-center view of America".

If you really think John wore his politics on his sleeve so people could make proclamations like this, you might be interested to know that in 1962, he wrote "The Road to Freedom", recorded by The Kingston Trio (of which he was a new member) and that he marched with Martin Luther King Jr. in 1965 from Montgomery to Selma. He sang for Bobby Kennedy in his 1968 campaign, and he would love Obama. Also, you might have a listen to Midnight Train on his 2006 album, about "el presidente"....

What a beautiful video...America has lost the voice of a great leader this year..We will survive and Hillary will be back in 2012..and John Stewart will remain in hearts forever...Thank you John and God Bless You Hillary....

Thanks. The song itself is intensely political, and so was John - in the best sense of the word. He supported a particular candidate (RFK), and RFKJr makes the point that Hillary follows in that same tradition. Where do you suggest we go from here; how can we make it better?

I would like to see what you could do with some of the other great JS songs like, Botswana, Wingless Angels, or Armstrong. When you use a song to benefit one particular candidate it loses objectivity. I agree that Survivors is a political song, but not about individual politicians. If more people can be introduced to John's music, the world will be a better place. Thanks.

Good ideas; thanks. John Stewart included a version of "Survivors" on his album for RFK "The Last Campaign." But your larger point is well taken.

(I'm going to try to keep nasty comments off this list; feel free to make constructive comments about anyone. If you want to demean either candidate, take it somewhere else. The video is a positive message, not anti-anything or anybody)
