We have a rule here: eat what you got to survive/live for.
I'm afraid to admit that Filipino cuisine lack the fancy-shmancy presentation that the westerners aim for, but who care, it's their opinion. I like the conservatism we try to put it, like "tingi" and the mindset of small portions.
But the problem is we are indeed unhygenic at times.
Still, nothing can beat... the Balut!

Americans. Such stereotypes. Just taste it before you make any judgments. You cant just go all the way criticizing our delicacy. It's recipes have been handed down from generations and its best when you enjoy it.
If u will go to the Philippines make sure you get a nice restaurant (If you want to play safe go to commercialized Filipino restos.) you need to be picky, cause these days no food is guaranteed safe if you buy street food.
