  • How many Allertors did Mason City use to have, why is the one seen not sounding, how do the Allertors that are heard and seen different, and how many miles apart are the Allertors?

  • @jackviolet21 at the time they were taken down, mason city had 5 allertors. one of which was defunct before it was ever removed. the view in this video is a picture taken in 2006 of the newly installed 2001 next to the already disconnected allertor. this allertor is not the one in the recording. this particular one was 3 miles from me. the one in the recording was a half mile and the thunderbeam also heard was a mile.

  • why did it wind down 4 a few seconds at 0:39 and then wound back up at 0:48?

    malfunction?

and it kept on going off instead of turning off after 3-5 minutes. does mason city keep the sirens going until the emergency passes?

  • @rockman399 its kind of like a very long attack. it does it a couple time throughout the recording.

  • That sounds scary. WHich allertor is heard in this video? is it the one shown here?

  • No, it looks exactly like it though, same mounting and same color and everything but this one is at the ball diamond, the one heard is by my house.

  • The 2001 looks like it's saying "Doi, is that a toilet on two poles?" and the Allertor is saying "They chose this piece of crap to replace me? Why couldn't it have been one of my younger brothers, the t-128s?"

  • The Allertor got replaced by a SRNB.

  • @pengsman Just like other people find cars, computers, sound systems, and much other things interesting,

  • @nickman888 Jw because I don't know why they are that interesting

  • @pengsman Because we like sirens, why?

  • @LNERMallard lol ive aways looked at it as the older sirens as the fathers/mothers and the newer sirens as there sons/daughters

  • mason city for the win lol

  • I wonder what would happen if a bird flew in the circle? He come out grinded up from the top

  • @Thunderbolt1000Tfan 10/12 Port Allertors have that (Thunderbolt Roar) sound. The 10/12 Port Chopper has that 500AT sound or XT22 sound but because of the shape of the horn, it makes that deeper roar sound.

  • Dude, that sounds like a thunderbolt siren. Are you sure it's an allertor?
