Flea's technique and musical ability have improved a lot since he started playing. Look up "Night School" by Stanley Clarke, and pay attention to Flea's solo. Flea isn't quite a virtuoso, and I don't think anybody would claim him to be, but he's damn good in his own right. I used to think his more recent basslines were boring because they lacked the energy of the Freaky Styley era stuff, but I realized how much more melodic and beneficial to the music his playing has become.

@xAWAMx you mean, I used to...
-
@yovioleatuzorramadre lol, you're looking up his videos.
-
@xAWAMx I really dont give a fuck. flea sucks, boring ass musician.
-
@yovioleatuzorramadre he never used a 6 string bass, but he did use a 5 string on Funky Monks and a few others. dumbass.

To all those who want to know where he got this from, he got it from a multitrack pack from Guitar Hero ( not sure which one) which comprises of the vocals, drums and extra guitar in one track, Guitar in another and bass in the other, 3 tracks. The tracks are of bad quality though.

@777jackpot1 its a brand of bass. known for their punchy growling tone.

This is played on Spector NS2.

Very interesting sound...apart from other songs. Kinda sounds like he is playing it extremely rough or it's just the strings :P
