Toyota with Chevy built 4.3 vortec v6

This is a video of my 87 4 runner 8 inches of lift on 35 inch durango's, the motor is a 4.3liter vortec v6 very strong mud truck

Thats a good combo you got! 4.3 you can get alot of miles out of that motor. Ive had 2 asrto vans and got over 200 to 300 k out of them. Ive got an 85 with 22re and when it goes out im putting a 4.3 vortec. I think the 4.3 vortex has 200hp stock . plenty for a toyota. I see people hoping up a 22r and spending 3k on it why not do a 4.3 I think its cheaper. What mpg are you getting? Ive heared stay away from spider injection on 4.3. Whats good is theres lot of after market stuff for 4.3.

@jason127x99 yea there are alot of things to build a stronger motor. I stayed away from fuel injection and used a holley 550cfm carb. the cam and heads are cheap aftermarket bolt in stuff I probably have around 300 hp. The mpg sucks to be honest. maybe 12 im not to sure but that is also with 5.29 gearing

It Was out of a 96 blazer from what i was told. what do you mean tbi cpi?

hey man, im thinking of doing this swap to my 89 xtra cab, right after i finish my SAS. im just gona go carb to save me the trouble of doing all the wiring. what tranny di you use, and how much did the swap cost you aproximately?

@jason127x99 actually they have 190hp stock (vortec). the s-10 xtreme 4.3 engine might have just a tad more im not sure while the syclone has 320hp. the non vortec 4.3 has around 160. i have a 4.3 vortec 4x4 s-10 blazer and since the k&n air filter i get up to 21mpgs or better on the highway. had a fram in it before and did good to get 14.

its probably a cpi like mine

tbi is throttle body injection

cpi is central port injection

bascially a cpi has the better horsepower
