  • @mandograssable Bluegrass is not the most popular style around. We need to cherish and encourage the little bands we have, especially outside the United States, not put them down, and call them names.

I've never been to a Bluegrass jam session or played for the street public, because I know there's people like you out there. I think if there were less people like you, more people would play Bluegrass.

Bill and Flatt were stars. We are not stars. No need to act as if we were.

  • @MSfeller I hear a mediocre bunch of guys who need to stay in the living room a little while longer. The older bands did criticize each other. The Seldom Scene and the Stanley Brothers had a running feud. Bill Monroe and Lester Flatt also were jealous of each other, and didn't like each other for a while. If you stay around the music long enough, you will find that bluegrass musicians are a jealous hearted bunch.

  • @MSfeller Learn to play before you try to be an entertainer. There is a difference between going to play in jam sessions, and playing for the public.

  • @mandograssable I don't play a quarter of what those people play, because I might not be as talented or have the experience they have. I've been playing for less than five years and I am self-taught. I reckon if I listened to people that think like you, my banjo would never leave the fucking case. Thank God that I don't. Because I know that the majority of Bluegrass players and bands are not stars, just people who enjoy music. Who are you to or Lawson to call them mediocre?

  • @mandograssable Yeah, I suppose you can hear all the flaws, while I hear Bluegrass music. You know, nobody likes Bluegrass snobs. If Doyle Lawson thinks that way, I feel sorry for his personality. I don't recall Earl Scruggs talking shit and putting down other people's music, just because they might not be as talented as he is. Not every band in the world and Bluegrass players are on the rise of stardom, some people just enjoy playing and entertaining others. I heard applause.

  • @MSfeller I suppose you can't hear all the sour notes. You want people to like bluegrass, so that bluegrass bands have people coming to their shows. Doyle Lawson is one knowledgeable person who told me that these mediocre bands give bluegrass a bad name.

  • @mandograssable Lol, why the hell is that? I thought they played great, and I grew up on Bluegrass. Who gives a crap about people that hate Bluegrass anyways? I don't see how playing Orange Blossom Special outside could ruin anything.

Great job, keep on pickin', Biggin Hillbillies!

  • This is what makes people hate bluegrass, and gives it a bad name.

  • Good to see the Hillbillies, at first glance that pub looks like the Liverpool Arms. hope to see you all at this years festivals
