SHUTTLE ENDEAVOURS STS-127 CREW TALKS WITH MEDIA AT LAUNCH PAD - KSC (NEW)
The seven-member crew of the next space shuttle mission spoke with media June 3 at NASA Kennedy Space Center's Launch Pad 39A in Florida.
The astronauts for shuttle Endeavour's STS-127 mission are at Kennedy to participate in a full launch dress rehearsal known as the terminal countdown demonstration test.
The test provides an opportunity for the crew and ground teams to participate in various simulated countdown activities, including equipment familiarization and emergency escape training.
Endeavour is targeted to launch to the International Space Station on June 13.
During the 16-day mission, the crew will deliver the final components of the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agencys Kibo
laboratory. The shuttle also will deliver a new crew member and bring back another after more than three months aboard the
station. Endeavours crew members are Commander Mark Polansky, Pilot Doug Hurley and Mission Specialists Christopher
Cassidy, Tom Marshburn, Dave Wolf, Tim Kopra and Canadian Space Agency astronaut Julie Payette.
