Here is a wonderful but highly contested song, once issued by the piano legend Ferdinand "Jelly Roll" Morton. While the origins of this roll seem to be centered on Victor 23321-A, .......the origins of the tune, (not the date it was first sent to record) are deeply in question and I do not know if this has ever been resolved by anyone.
Clearly this roll has been done in Morton's style, but that is as far as I can find of any kind of real "facts" about the song itself and where it came from...(inlcuding compostion date, which I have concluded to be much earlier).
This roll was an interperative cut done by the late John Farrell.
I present it here, for your enjoyment, as it is one hot roll issue, but if anyone out there has any real info out there on the song itself, please let me know and I will adjust this accordingly.
Enjoy, and thanks for viewing!
