The BEST spanish mezzosoprano TERESA BERGANZA sings the song No.13 " La Tarara " from Trece canciones espanolas antiguas by Federico Garcia Lorca.

Guitar: Narciso Yepes
recorded: 12/1976, Munich, Alter Hercules-Saal

LA TARARA

La Tarara, sí;
la tarara, no;
la Tarara, niña,
que la he visto yo.

Lleva la Tarara
un vestido verde
lleno de volantes
y de cascabeles.

|: La Tarara, sí;
la tarara, no;
la Tarara, niña,
que la he visto yo. :|

Luce mi Tarara
su cola de seda
sobre las retamas
y la hierbabuena.

|: La Tarara, sí;
la tarara, no;
la Tarara, niña,
que la he visto yo. :|

Ay, Tarara loca.
Mueve, la cintura
para los muchachos
de las aceitunas

  • I don't care what anyone says! This is beautiful! Congratulations and thanks!!...

  • Does someone know if this song was the basis for the main theme of Falla's "Fête-Dieu à Séville / El Corpus en Sevilla?" And for that matter, whether this song is from Seville?

  • @BravaBerganza01 me too, my dear :D best

  • @jewish1972 she also pronounces with the Andalusian accent (vi'to, ve'tida, .. ).

    I don't know any other singer who has such a profound care of study for this piece

  • Absolutely wonderful :D listen to the Andalusian pronunciation she uses, to the colour of the voice, warm and solar. Wonderful piece and interpretation for a formally simple piece :)

  • In another comment, you said, in Spanish, that Teresa Berganza is rather vulgar ... but the truth is that nobody cares about the opinion of a person of your vulgar social background. I cannot imagine a half-decent (or even high school graduate) person making such a comment.

  • not only is her voice inadequate for this kind of music, but also her style or singing. Its too formal, serious, classic style, when this music is folk, popular & very andalusian
