  • Crappy narrator, and obviously the art direction for the intro was entirely American. lol. What happened to the red hair?

  • Good times back then, but I do remember the horrible narrative voice lol.

  • the fact that this guy was allowed to be the narrator is RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!! HOLY CRAP, it's like they picked up a random homeless person to be the voice actor. WTF.

  • Does anyone know the actual name of this track? And if it was ever used for the arrange albums? Cause this only seems to appear on the game disc, and I wouldn't mind hearing some remakes of it, but I don't know what the actual name is.

  • @zokamaru Huh, before this I thought it was supposed to be Genos. Can't believe that's supposed to be Adol...

  • HA. I have 51 albums pertaining to Ys :)

Sadly I'm still missing a bunch :( But they aren't the main albums, so I'm happy.

  • thanks, i actually found the rom for ys I & II which had all the audio tracks on it. really good stuff.

  • Ys IV and V were the ones that never made it to the states.

  • Name it I probably have it :P I've been collecting the Ys soundtracks of all the games for years. I'm about 70% done so far.

  • I think their idea was smilar to how Robin Hood, King Arthur, Paul Bunyan, Popeye, etc are these kind of "heroes amongst men." How a rumor become a story, a story becomes a legend, a legend becomes a myth. Notice how the guy said "The legend is about to be retold?"

I think the intro portrayed the myth, while the game portrayed the real story, which wasn't pretty.

  • haha, I love the way the storydude over glorified adol like this yellow haired muscle man dude when he was in fact this kid looking skinny guy

  • if you have the original cds from the game you could load them to ur pc and download the songs

  • holy shit, watching this and the ys books I & II footage is giving me flashbacks. i'm trying to find the soundtrack to ys I & II online, it was awesome!

  • I always thought this game was possible to be played on2 players because those two jus never seem to split up they even are together in the newer ones

  • That's strange, I was under the impression this game never made it to the states. Oh well. Once I get my TurboGrafx and a Turbo CD, I'll definitely be getting Ys I-III and the Valis games. And Bonk! :)

  • Man this brings back memories. I frigging loved the TurboGrafx CD unit. And this game, along with Ys I and II. Thanks for posting this. I haven't seen these sequences in years.
