How to Create Sweep/Drama Build-ups in Traktor TUTORIAL

This video will show you how to create a dynamic sweep build-up in Traktor using the built in effects. This technique can be used with any midi controller.

The sweep build up is a great mixing tool to have with any controller it will help create build ups and drama when mixing out of a song and dropping in the beat of a new song.

Check out the video. I don't have a file to give as Traktor acts goofy when importing TSI's that deal with Effect and Effect Presets. Plus a great advantage to doing it yourself is that you learn a bit more about midi mappings.

Follow the video step by step to get the same effect at home with your controller. Great for electro, hip hop, pop, and glitch.

i use a traktor kontrol x1 and when i go to preferences to do the mapping i cant load an "FX chained", i only have "FX single" or "FX group"... how can i get that "fx chained" thingy that i obviously need? or is it impossible to map this with a kontrol x1? thanks in advance

(ps i work with the traktor pro 2 software)

@Indi3viduaL In traktor two they changed it from "chained" to "group". Just select group.

Apologies for my lack of knowledge, but what is that 'instrument' that you are using ? :)

@Samglents4 No worries. That's a midi controller. It's Maschine made by Native Instruments. It's a hardware software combo. But it also has midi mode so you can use it with any program that allows midi.

I see alot of comments saying it is possible to do this with the Kontrol S4 but no one really explains how to do it in detail, is there anyway someone on this thread can please help out and explain in full detail or make a video of how to map it to the S4, ive been going crazy trying to figure it out, just cant get it, im new to the whole mapping thing, never done it before.

@thestever this won't be possible, because you don't "save" the layout from these. If you can save the slots you can try to load them afterwards. If there is no such function (what I doubt) then you will end up adding them in manually again.

i have a traktor kontrol s4, cant i just have the 3 effects on using the effects bank and use the dry/wet knob??

very nice video. I got the iceverb, peak filter, and reverb to work on my S2 but I can't get the delay to work for those three effects because there isn't another knob on the s2 to control the 4th effect (delay). is there any way I can map the S2 so that I can put a delay on those effects without using a midi controller? Thanks!

So I got this to work fine, but I was wondering if there was a way to set it so that when the knob is all the way at 0, the effects you had in those slots before would come back. It would be really useful. I think you'd need modifiers, but I can't figure it out.

I see you are usig a Midi coantroller, however can you map the sweep effect into one of the nobs in traktor S2?
