Curiously on some versions Simon and Garfunkel are down as the writers ? Well all I can say is they look pretty good for 400 years old. I think I have more claim to it as at least I have been to Scarborough. Anyway we have stuck to the traditional lyrics and a medieval style

this is really well sung, but as far as I can tell is in early modern English not old English. but brilliant anyway and i agree that it is weird that people have Simon and Garfunkel down as the writers.

I agree with all the sentiments here. I don't think modern English was invented till the 1200's. The Chancellory tried to unite all of england with a common form of the mixture of "old english" french and latin which was spoken by the disporair of our poeple.

I have just found this awesome poster, this poster shows our early English heroes from the 'Adventus Saxonum'499 AD and warband leaders Hengist and Horsa, through to King Harold and Hereward 'the Wake' ,all depicted against the backdrop of a dramatic cliff side setting. and below a corresponding description, Little has been done to make ourselves or our children proud of our own English heroes.This poster puts that right at last.
