You're absolutely right! The only thing that can look/feel/smoke like a cigarette is a cigarette. Some people will simply prefer tobacco.

How can it carry the risk of nicotine addiction when the person using it is ALREADY addicted to nicotine?

Health Canada is comparing this to not smoking at all. That's like saying that diet soda is not as healthy as pure water, while dismissing the fact that it isn't AS BAD AS regular soda.

The question isn't "is an e-cigarette as good as not smoking at all," the question is, "is an e-cigarette AS BAD AS smoking traditional cigarettes?"

As a non-smoker I can say that I'd a lot rather the guy at the next table were puffing on one of these than on a regular cancer stick.

It is of course best to not start smoking in the first place, and the next best thing is to quit altogether. But for smokers who can't seem to quit or who don't want to quit, this seems a way for them to, if nothing else, make peace with non-smokers.

At last, something smokers and non-smokers can unite behind.

hey my mom cought me smoking at the bus stop the other day and go mad so i need a better way to get the menthol flavor but also be able to smoke around her and she is a cancer survivor... would this be a good idea to buy it to use? btw im only 15.

@rosebud066 e cigs have only nicotine and a few other food grade chemicals. i quit smoking due to e cigs and the benifits are great. i dont stink anymore, i can breath again, it costs me about half what ciggs cost. very happy e cigs came along, just hope they dont get taken away by the govorment.

@shahrid1987 I disagree i stopped smoking for over 3 months due to vaping. All other nicotine delivery methods have failed.
