  • @ 0:29 is that a Pass/Baggage?

  • jesus, flats on every carriage

  • @Trainking922 Budget cuts and low ridership. Though honestly, in 1997 there were other routes in Amtrak's system that could've been eliminated instead.

  • Why did this train stop?

  • @kh2nerd806 For much of its life, it did only run with one locomotive and no baggage car.

  • This reminds me of when I came from England on holiday in August 1982, and travelled on the Desert Wind from Chicago to Los Angeles. A long time ago, but a memorable journey.

  • There's the speedy High Desert passenger train clip I was looking for. Great to see this train with a decent sized make-up before "the end"

  • I really miss this train with the Pepsi Units and this Train. This was the only Train that ran the Cajon Pass in the Daylight. Rather it was late or on time. And I also miss the crews that worked this Train as well. Thanks for recording this great train. Have any more videos of this Train?

    Thanks

  • interesting historical footage. great stuff.

  • Very cool footage! Instant 5*****
