Yep, and some people can be so arrogant. Shalom

  • Calvinists can be too, we're all totally depraved. ;)

  • @zmode82 more specifically, God ordained that man would have a choice...

  • Instead of defending Calvinism, you should be preaching the gospel to the entire world, since God loves all of the people therein, and desires all of them to be saved, and come to the knowledge of the truth. I am not of Paul, Calvin or Arminius, but of Christ, and Calvinism insults the cross and the sacrifice thereon by limiting the power of Jesus to save only those who get lucky enough to be chosen. Jesus is almighty, and can save all mankind, but He chooses to save those who come to Him.

  • In bad interpretation of calvinism there are many heretics , but what i meant is among those who accept the doctrines , but still don't born again.

  • So, to show you I am being fair I dont deny that there have been a few bad apples. Howevr, no man-made theology satisfies every verse in the Bible, yes, not even calvinism. To deny God ordains everything, is to deny verses like Lam.3:37To deny man freely chooses, is to deny verses likes Acts16:30-31. If you take the Bible in its whole, you get "God ordains that which men freely choose." Now, you can call it Augustianism, Clavinism, but verily, verily, I call it Biblical. =)

  • Now, I can name one that comes to mind, Anne Hutchinson, who beleived in 'free grace' which is a preversion of 'perserverance of the saints.' i like to call it 'perversion of the saints', but its commonly known as hyper-calvinism. The idea that 'once saved, always saved' is a license to sin. Nevertheless, it was also calvinists like John Cotton, and Winthrop, who did not hestitate to call this youg lady out on her heresy.

  • "in calvinism are people who are not born again."

Who are these people you speak of? John Bunyan, author of Pilgrim's Progress? that book played a huge role in my childhood btw, or John Newton? songwriter of "Amazing Grace" I'm almost certain it is still sung in most churches. But, um yeh who are these calvinists that you condemn as heretics?

  • I think we must show compassion to brothers who are whith a different doctrine, like the issue calvinism-armianism,because among arminians are truly christians, and in calvinism are people who are not born again.

  • is this video a good testimony for our faith before the wicked ?.

  • It is one of only two ways, man either controls God's will or God controls man's will.

  • This person isn't Arminian as I've had a conversation with him before, in which he said: I would not want to be associated with Arminianism because they have the wrong view of atonement. I can provide other quotes as well. Arminians don't believe that man's free will is autonomous or absolutely free, Wesley actually held that God can overwhelm the will in order to accomplish His purposes. Spurgeon was dealing with a vulgarized version of Arminianism, we aren't born with an innate free will. ~7
