I have to disagree and I'm a HUGE Gene Kelly fan. Neither is better than the other. They have two different styles. Fred is more elegant, graceful, and classy. Gene is more athletic/macho, relatable, and emotional in his steps. Both make it look easy. Fred glides on air and Gene has a way of making you feel like you could dance just like him. Gene emanates joy/boy next door and Fred emanates classical/royalty. We will never have another Gene or Fred, both deserve our sincerest respect :))

What are you talking about?? Have you seen Fred's solo dance sequences of EASTER PARADE? ROYAL WEDDING? TOP HAT? BLUE SKY? Puttin On the Ritz is one of the most elaborate, inventive and graceful solo dance sequences ever! It's perfectly O.K. for you to say you don't like Astaire's style. Just don't judge it.
