hi your right, im Bernard, trying to put a face to you, or name, keiran died nearly 4yrs ago, jimmy lives in Taunton i havent seen him in years, yes the old days at the 99 club, and around town they were great days those days have gone forever, its not the same anymore in Barrow

I remember tuts jackson from the old Barrow Amateur Boxing club which was on Greengate St at the time I was going there in the 70's. Below the boxing gym was a weights gym and next door a Chinese restaurant. Gym was run by Frank Skyrme and also there at the time were John Gidney, Jimmy Heginbotom, a young guy called John McGuire and an Iranian guy called Jimmy/Jamshi. Plenty more but those are the guys I rmember and that's a LONG time ago

ok bernie, great memories of around town in the eighties gone but not forgotten. you knew my brother paul haslam(aza) was hoping i might catch him in the footage of 99 and regal as he was a regular around town with brownie and tutts jackson, seen a few old faces, but sadly not our kid but good memories though all the same. Its 20 yrs for our paul wheres it all gone, many thanks.

The girl at 0.19 is called Shirl and my fiance for the last 3 years, we both live in the Canary Islands now, although some trips back to Barrow occasionally.

Sorry to hear about Kieran, I didn't know that. We used to have the odd pint together. You won't remember me, I was just a young 24 /25 yr old guy from Cartmel in those days, 75-79.

My best mate at the time was Pat Cahalane, an Irish guy who still lives in Mount Pleasant. Didn't Jimmy used to drink in the Barrow Arms with a guy called Billy Clauson? Yes, great times, great pubs. I've been in Australia since '83 but still miss Barrow Regards, Peter

My mistake, I just remember. THAT'S Bernard, Keiren's older brother. I used to know Kieren, as I said...been a while. Used to drink in the Barrow Arms. Lot of ale under the bridge since then.

Used to live in Barrow in the mid to late 70's and early 80'sand been to the 99 club many times, usually half elephants trunk. If I'm not mistaken the big lump at the beginning is non other than Jimmy Devlin, at least I think Bernard's older brother, I think his name was Jimmy.....been a while
