A Dhamma talk by Dr. Punnaji Maha Thero.
Venerable Punnaji was a medical practioner in the government service in Sri Lanka, before he ordained as a Buddhist monk over 10 years ago.he has devoted over 50 years in the study and reasearch of Buddhism and adopts a more philosophical and psychological approach to Buddha Dhamma (teachings of Buddha). he has been teaching Dhamma and meditation in North America for over 35 years. his studies in science and medicine has enable him to use modern Terminology more intelligble to the Westerner.
Thero explain how Buddhist view agree with the Theory of Evolution, and explain how the idea of SELF/Soul come into ones mind. in reality there is no soul/self / I/ Ego or any other hidden Agent. This is one main point in buddhist view, which is called ANATTA (No-self).Venerable Punnaji Explains further that reality what we perceive is relative to five senses of our body and is realy a Dream or delusion of existence. Nothing exist in absolute terms. the evolution of mind to a perfect pure state would make one to experience true nature of reality as it is.
