You all got this wrong its not entirely about reporting on facts such as corruption. I personally am a fan of the bill. YES - I said it - I am a fan. The media is partially responsible for the post election violence. The Kenyan Media simply lacks a level professionalism you find in the west (for those of you comparing to France). In journalism there is a moral code of conduct referred to as responsible journalism which the Kenyan media lacks

you wouldn't know about those families dying of hunger if the media wasn't fully operational, in the sense of their equipment being seized, dailies being burned. I am sure Sarkozy doesn't raid media houses like was done here. Let's be frank, in Kenya, we still need to develop institutions that act as checks and balances in the governance of the country. Right now other institutions are thoroughly compromised and I'm proud to say, in my opinion the media does a bloody good job in informing us.

media trying to scare people. Everywhere in theworld, media is under control.Here in france sarkozy controls media and that doesnt stop media from being a pro or anti govt. Kenya media played a big part in the killings. They took sides. i dont care about media, lets care about those families dying of hunger.

just give them a black out!!!! what are you waiting for? this fat cats will destroy us..they want to show us how fat they can continue to be with our money...dont even show their ugly faces in the media...but report them to us....
