This is a great song and I hope I did Leslie a little justice. I'm without my main pedal board so the tone is missing but hopefully what I love best about Leslie West came out.....his vibrato!! Sheesh, I love that.

  • Here is my quickest method for learning any song or lead:

    1. learn as much as you can by ear FIRST (helps train and strengthen your ears)

    2. go to YouTube and pick the clips that sound the "most correct" and go off that

    3. Get "amazing slow downer" or similar, which is a software program that allows slowing of passages while maintaining pitch. This is my saving grace. If you can't learn with slow downer......then you have to go back to basics....

    4. combine all, use your judgment

  • its a cover, no how to play dude

  • @loouuni

Dude, I played it with the fret board and picking in front of yer eyes. You don't need TAB on this song.....the leads are not that fast. Actually TAB wouldn't show vibrato or bend amounts to the degree you need to obtain that "sound". So watch and learn. TAB can be limiting, which is why I rarely show TAB for basic rock songs. To me TAB is a buzz kill for learning, unless it's some insane Satriani type lead...... enjoy!

  • How dit you get this superb tuning/ampsetting. I love the big heavy distortion when hitting the riff!!

  • @MaxHubben

I used a Marshall Bluesbreaker II pedal thru a Fender Blues Deluxe reissue and of course the 59 LP RI. When I purchased the 59 LP RI I got it at GC in Oxnard, but then took it to GC in Sherman Oaks and compared it to 7 or 8 other 59 RI's and it blew em all away? Weird.......

  • YAYAAYA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Perfect. Thanks man

  • Outstanding demonstration! You got the lead and rhythm parts correct, and didn't miss a note.

I saw Mountain in Louisville, KY in 1974, loudest concert I ever saw. Your playing is very good.

  • @Vavoom09 Is that a silvertone or epiphone?

  • I use to play this song when I was younger. When it first came out! Never got tired of playing it. Learning it all over, 35 years later. Thanks for a great video and lesson on this song. You did a great job of it!

  • @Vavoom09 also these lamos also have the mouse to rewind it and watch over and over, but it probably wouldnt help , should send them the tab for a diff song just for a laugh , see how long it takes for them to figure it out

  • nice job, thanks!

  • What is everyone bitching about? You did a good job showing how to play.. Its called a pause button if he's going too fast.
