November 3, 1979. Greensboro, North Carolina. Willena Cannon, a lifelong civil rights activist and member of the Workers Viewpoint Organization, helped arrange a "Death to The Klan" rally and conference. As she and her 10-year old son, Kwame, began to participate in the rally, the worst possible scenario became a reality. With police suspiciously absent, a caravan of cars filled with Klan and Nazi members rolled through the rally and opened fire on the defenseless protesters. Live footage from local news cameras caught the massacre in its brutal form. In this award-winning documentary, Andy Coon explores the buried evidence from both state and federal court prosecutions by examining the trials under a new lens; he vividly exposes civil trial records, through documentation and interviews, which proved the existence of local police, FBI and ATF informants surrounding the rally. Going one-step beyond the vision of A&E and The History Channel's coverage of the event, Coon fast-forwards seven years later, to the plight of an immature, yet harmless, 17-year-old Kwame Cannon. Arrested for six counts of non-violent burglary, Cannon naively accepts a pre-trial plea bargain consisting of two consecutive life sentences. ?Proper legal representation was provided ?The judge tried to give him fair warning ?His mother was advised to not attend the hearing due to her roots in community activism This is Greensboro's Child
The Klan Vietnam combat Veterans like Roland Wood get medals for fighting and killing Communists in a foreign land, yet get murder charges leveled against them for taking on the reds in this country who spout off their communist doctrine on American soil, spit on the very Constitution that they despise, then hide behind FREE SPEECH Nothing is keeping them from leaving here n going to a REAL Communist country n live there if they that Communism is so wonderful. Medal of Honor goes to the Klan!!!

After years of protest the govener set him free a few years ago. As to where he is, or what he's doing now, I'm not sure.

I still can't believe those Klansman/Nazis got away with five murders.
Also, I just watched the video again and was wondering what happened to the kid who was so prominent in it. Two life sentences for burglary? That doesn't sound right. What has happened to that kid, now man, since the documentary was made?

I lived in that neighborhood at the time and was there - didn't happen that way! If it did, does that excuse what happened? Next, there were three different local news networks there, not even one of the three has such footage! I wonder about folks like you, what's your point? Even if what you said was true, the crime of murder still occurred, at least second or third degree murder under NC state law!

There is a white station wagon to the left of the Falcon on the street that intersects with the road that they are on. My roomate took cover under that car and was hit in arm with shotgun pellets.
One of the male Communists pulled a pistol out and ran toward the car firing his weapon. This is on film (you don't see it on this video).

My college roomrate was the news director for a local Winston-Salem TV station and he was there filming these events. What you do not
get told in the media is that the blue Ford
Falcon (the KKK car) came down the street and the protestors (Communists and agitators from New York) hit the KKK car on 3 separate occasions with small baseball bats. After that happened, the car pulled over to the side
of the road and the KKK got out with shotguns
and started firing.
