Wow! That's a cool ole saw.....I need a chain drive gear for an old 76-78 stihl 510....Anyone know if they still make or cross ref. these ole parts? Any help would b greatly appreciated..

I believe you mean a STIHL 051? There was no 510 that I know of. You should be able to find almost any part you need on eBay.

dude, no chainbreaks in those days? It looks to me that if the saw jolts upwards the chain will burrow into your left hand. Seeing that chain run that close to your hand makes me shiver :P

1 bought a 012 back in 69 for 50 bucks, i used it on the landing. That Stihl cut like hell but you needed a wheel barrel to get it around. [ i was 21 ]
