Great video it's such a shame he died at the age of 14

@rcschumann Seabiscuit's original trainer Sunny Jim held him back and raced him in petty races he could never have run. The poor thing was so over raced and smacked around by his former jockey. He loved Red and Tom Smith and raced well because they understood him better.

@rcschumann Tom Smith NEVER gave drugs to any horse. A man used them without permission, and Tom was held responsible because he was the trainer. He was an incredible man who loved horses. And Seabiscuit was tested and never given drugs. Think about it, he was raced more in his first season than some horses are in their entire careers! He ate so much and his heart was overly large. The heart attack could have happened for a number of reasons. He was a beloved horse and will be missed by all.

@rcschumann wow... see, there just HAD to be something behind toms secrecy.. ): then again, if it was apparently really that easy, you gotta ask yourself, was there ANY horse who wasnt running on drugs? perhaps seabiscuit was the rule more than the exception

@wolfshadow132 Yes, Biscuit was amazing because he was hopped up on the drug ephedrine, which the cheat Tom Smith gave him to make him stronger.
-
@Wolfguurl He died at such a young age because he was given the drug ephedrine to boost his performances. This drug puts strain on the heart as it builds up the adrenaline. Biscuit's trainer, Tom Smith, was busted for spraying this stuff into the nostrils of some of his horses and got suspended for a year. Check it out if you like. Seabiscuit died of heart attack.

There have been allegations that Seabiscuit was administered ephedrine (a stimulant that enhances performance) by Tom Smith. Smith was actually busted for spraying this substance in the nostrils of a later horse and suspended for a year. I mean, Biscuit does little at 2 and 3 years (when greats usually do) and then suddenly starts winning under Smith - this just doesn't happen. It was observed that he looked bigger at the Anita in 1940, and he died of a heart attack at a fairly young age.
