my music teacher played this and when he played the loud part, half of the class were jumping out of their seat.

I learned about many composers, but I remembered Haydn the most cause this scared the crap out of me when we listened to it in music class lmao. But I loved it. Haydn, Beethoven, Mozart, Verdi, Rachmaninoff ( if I spelled it correctly) Gershwin and many others are my favorite composers. Can't remember them all. I have my old music teacher Ms. Barlow to thank for this. I still have CD's with over 100 composers she gave us to study :)

@2magees "Everytime [there was ]a concert ... the prince would fall asleep." He would fall asleep because he got drunk. Just thought I'd add that. :)

@2magees lol, same story different title, its all hilarious no matter who is falling asleep, especially when its the kid sitting next to me in class and falling out of his chair XD

This piece was intended to surprise it's listers at concerts. Haydn was tired of people who would fall asleep at his concerts. So he wrote a piece which would have quieter parts and then louder parts which would wake his snoozing listeners in surprise. Quite humorous really.
