Steve Morse has a similar inside-picking-etude thing on his instructional video... shame his video is kinda pants.

PG is the picking king though. Watching these JP videos for the first time, he seems accurate but lacks a lot of intensity and power.

The inside picking thing is why guitarist that want to perfect there craft and become the ultimate virtuoso need to learn to do alternate and economy picking not one or the other

dammit.... is he serious about that legato excercise?..."do it for 1 minute without stopping and then shift to another pattern and do the same thing... or do it for 2 or 3 minutes if you like.... "...just doing the same pattern over and over for 20 seconds makes my hand stiff!
