Lou Dobbs: H1B visa scam hurts American college grads

Despite an over-abundance of college grads, big business insists that American professionals and graduates are deficient.

In reality, H1B visa-holders are paid far less than American workers. And most H1B visas go to poorly-trained high tech workers, that are later trained "on the job".

Once again Lou Dobbs, exposes corporate America and its War on the Middle Class.

The H1B visa only exists to displace Americans with low-wage foreigners who will gladly work long hours and weekends, and have no family here that can interrupt their work. The whole thing is a crock. With 20% unemployment and thousands upon thousands of unemployed technology professionals, there is NO need for this visa. Yet corporations keep claiming they can't find "qualified people" and that they need the "best and brightest" when it's really all about paying peanuts for workers.

In order a society to be innovative, the individuals need wealth and leisure time to create new innovations. In a closed economy, for each job there will be a prevailing wage based on skill and societal necessity and supply and demand forces. When you artificially drive down wages and increase work hours with H1B and other cheap labor programs, the innovators simply will never have the time and opportunity to make the innovations that lead to better quality of living.

yes tuition is too much here too compare to other country which is $500/year kids have to do sports music volunteer while students in other country they only read books thats it.

Silicon Valley local here. I remember back in 2000 or so when the technology bubble burst that SUN Micro Systems (now owned by Oracle) actually faced a class action lawsuit for taking H1 workers instead of qualified U.S. citizens. Then again this should make one realize that Bush's "No Child Left Behind" is a failure. The U.S. would be so much better off if there were educational standards to reach. Set the bar and gradually raise it. Teachers unions won't agree, that means they'd have to work.

I dont vote, but I couldnt envisage any circumstance that would have made me think George Bush deserved my vote. And Im just going on his body language and the way he looks.
