@ayethereztherub As opposed to what exactly? Narrative isn't being raised to a personified state of ontology - it's subsumed within it. It's a way of making dry, tepid facts interesting to a consumer public. That is human nature and indeed everyone does this.
This guy is kind of a blowhard, of the flighty-egomaniac type. It reminds me of every English major I've known who elevated "narrative" to its own ontology, without a scintilla of informed knowledge or sympathy for the substance of social and political issues themselves. Its a perpetual turnoff with authors these days.
