This is an arm drag setup through a Darce choke option that you have from this position. This is the third step in our sequence from the last two videos.

  • is it really hard to do the darce in a gi? I've been trying it and it is quiet hard

  • You can use the Darce (aka Brabo) using the gi and actually use the tail to complete the choke!

  • why do you have to post?

  • You don't necessarily have to-but I generally do in order to maintain my base the entire time.

  • d'arce works as a counter to the low half guard escape

  • This is too low percentage. Interesting nonetheless.

  • Hey question for you guys. I roll with a big guy about 255 260 (at 5'11, so its more fat), and i'm 205 at 5'9 more muscle. I can't seem to snake my arm deep enough to grab the bicep fully. His body is so much bigger than mine, my arms have difficulty setting it up. The anaconda is much easier since i'm snaking under the neck first, THEN the arm. Any suggestions or is this just tough luck?

  • I thinks its funny that I stumbled on to your video because I went over a the butterfly sweep today, had I I seen your video sooner, I would have tried the Darce during live training. Nice video.

  • @TechniquePrevails I completely agree. Sometimes if you feel that a move isnt setting in correctly, you can do something risky, like a gator roll, and try and adjust during the scramble. After some practice, it is pretty good

  • very complicated method.

  • Thanks for the vid

  • If you can land it there- then definitely. If he feels it coming, then simply gator roll out and catch it on the other side. Then even if you miss it, you're still in side control instead of guard!

Check out our D'arce Choke video set in our store if you like that choke. We have some great setups for it.
