Just a quick videos showing you how to create your own shimmer mists using Pearl-Ex pigments and Perfect Pearls from Ranger.
****NOTE: Please excuse my mistake when showing the 2nd jar: It IS the Pearl-Ex (as opposed to Perfect Pearls). Also, to clarify: Pearl-EX powders do not have a binding in them whereas Perfect Pearls do -- there is confusion when I speak :-)***

  • I am going to make these with my pear ex powders and liquid gum arabic that I found at the newsagent! Thankyou, they are gorgeous!

  • @KarenIsNew Yeah! I'm glad I could help. Take care, CC

  • Hi, I have been wondering about why my pearl ex clogged up the mini mister Now I know. the secret is the gum Arabic Additive. Thanks

  • @MsBarb36 Glad I could be of help, MsBarb. Another tip you can try is when you're done using a color, turn your mini mister upside down and spray until nothing comes out. This helps keep the pump clean!

  • Perfect Pearls doesn't need a binder they have one mixed in the mica. That's why they're a bit more pricey. Pearl Ex needs the Gum Arabic. Pearl Ex is more vibrant because it's straight mica but maybe you need to try to us more of the Pearl Ex in your mixture because it "should" be "bright". :) I use the powder form of Gum Arabic when I make mist & Pearl Ex.. Thanks for the liquid GA receipe. If you do an update on this would love to hear about it, Thanks. XOXO TFS.

  • @mississchic Thanks for your comments. I DO KNOW the differences between the two powders... I just made a mistake at the beginning (mistaking one for the other) and when I showed the Pearl-Ex bottle (calling it Perfect Pearls)... I'm quite happy with the vibrancy of the Pearl-Ex; it is with the Perfect Pearls that I need to experiment more. Maybe I need to add more Perfect Pearls to the mix. Again, I thank you for pointing out my mistakes and I do apologize for them!

  • You can also add a few drops of reinker with the Perfect Pearls mix for a stronger colour. Now I want to try the Pearl-Ex mixes... they look so pretty!
