Once, long ago, strange people with too much time and money took two great Space: 1999 episodes and merged them into a feature film.

Well... so my Space: 1999 DVD tells me. I wasn't there so I don't know. But this trailer makes me laugh so I thought I'd share it. The episodes they merged were the first one, Breakaway, and a very strange one called War Games.

This trailer is taken from the New Zealand Space: 1999 DVD boxset. I did not make it! Because of this, I also will not distribute copies of it (other than on YouTube), so please don't ask for a download.

i know what you mean the look got me on 1999 especially when the eagle lands first time on the alien world platform something like a heliport in war games i loved that and the matee sky above.

well i liked victor bergman morse and the landau's were great together very warm in thy're interactions together

  • @TheRebel2007 I know Barry Morse died, please elaborate thnx

  • Gerry Anderson's productions, whether made in Supermarionation or with live actors, always had the coolest explosions.

  • To we Canadians watching these in the 70`s, the aliens` British accents just added to the eerieness of the aliens. I kid you not!

  • That had to suck for the pilots of the eagle at 1:14 to get blown up only 2 seconds after take-off.

  • Nicely restored visuals; better than A&E's 30th anniversary DVD set...

  • That alien looked like a Taelon. He even sounded like Da'an. Yep! we have all been inspired by this series. For me, this one more than Star Trek because I saw this one first.

  • I've actually got this on video! I thought it was a new film from HMV in Oxford Street in 1980 for £39.99 Gerry Anderson was interviewed in Starburst 1979 with a poster of it in the background. He was asked about it but didn't say much - all hush-hush. The first part has the complete Breakaway Ep. including TV reports and Earth Command. The re-cut version is much better IMHO. ...Yeah, Alien Attack! Tchoh!

  • Poor Barry Morse...what a way to end your career!
